North lead J from STD, J10xx or HJ10xx. Carding is STD.

Dummy played x

South always takes several seconds on the first card to have a look and this hand meybe 20 seconds.

Then played 3 as discourage.

Declarer won and lead clubs, north ducked 1 round and won on 2nd round.

Then played 10 of diamonds. Dummy small and then north played A.

The result was -2 and West summoned director, he said if south followed 1st card quickly he will play dummy's honor on 2nd round of D and result would be -1.

Director said south's first card think was too slow and misleaded declarer and adjusted to -1.

What's your opinion?

Can the defender (leader's pd) take some seconds to think at the first card after dummy put his hand on the table and play a card(sometime very quick because all small in dummy)?
