Roger Lee-great post. Would have been much better if you listed some of those pros that cheat every day. Text me your list and I'll text you mine.

Not a all Rich, I think that is a totally different situation and we all have made bad claims and more often don't see right away that our opponent has made a proper claim especially if we are tired so that situation is easier to rectify online by rejecting the claim and taking a careful look. In the Vanderbilt-if someone leads out of turn or something similar I feel I owe it to my teammates to play by the rules just as in a pair game if they lead out of turn I think I owe it to the rest of the field to play by the rules and not effect the outcome of the event by making my own rules. I assumed the spirit of the online tournament where there can so easily be cheating was very different than a live national championship. Wrong again. On another note maybe you should poll Vanderbilt winners to compare the thrill they had winning the Vandy live to winning an online event with no security that doesn't include any of the other 50 best teams in the world.

This is a sad state of affairs where players are trying to have a match on the computer to entertain specs and have some fun while quarantined. The event has 0 meaning but we thought it was nice to support Mr. Reynolds who worked really hard to organize and run this. Also it gives lesser players an opportunity to play against us. The first match we played a nice team from India with a 15 year old boy on the team and I can tell you it was a big thrill for him. When petty things like this happens it certainly makes us just wanna play among ourselves in a much better game.

I met John in 1981 in Bermuda Bowl in Rye. Loved him immediately, he had a great sense of humor, I had a great time at the table playing against him. He had a real problem with dry eyes and had to spray his eyes every few minutes, and gave me a good spritz every now and then.

I am old school and didn't rebid 1nt with a singleton in partner's suit. I have learned from Steve Weinstein over the years to be more flexible and with a stiff honor and bad suit(s) its better to rebid 1nt because it narrows the focus of your hand type and its easy for partner to check back and bid 3 of his major showing 6 anyway. In a pinch partner will play me for 2 of his suit. Bridge is not a perfect game–narrowing focus is the way to go.

Jlall as usual you are hysterically funny and on the money. Geoff as well. Let me add a little humor to this sickening post. Years ago I played a regional with Harry Tudor. Those of you that know the King understand that after playing and rooming with him for 5 days you need to be in a straight jacket so as not to hurt yourself. My 4 year old son was sleeping in a stroller at the table. Harry took 20 minutes to play this hand, and was card for card double dummy. (10000-1) Then in a baby 3 card end position he thought for another 15 minutes. I must have muttered at some point with my head in my hands because the next thing I know my son Andrew leaps forward and screams “Harry you moron– play a diamond!” I had to hire a baby sitter as Andrew was barred from the playing site for the rest of the tournament.Years later I ran into 2 ladies that were at the next table and they both swore they peed themselves. After that I save my mutters for after the hand.

I love the way everyone bids 3nt on their partner's club Q when partner may have already overbid because he was actually looking at club Q or QJ.

I X, see what partner does, if he can't bid 3nt himself my chances for slam are better and I will try to get there.

Im going 2d(I never heard of reverse Capp.!) followed by 3s, trying to show a better hand than a direct 3s.

I like 4c, a qbid in support of myself. If I had clubs I could have bid a natural and forcing 3c. I like 3h and don't see what else you can do, but I think over 3nt this hand is too good to pass.
