about me

Love all games, I really mean all of them, go,shogi, poker, french tarot, wargames, computer games etc

"I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff. For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Favorite Bridge Memory
The first time Ive really understood how complex the bidding phase can be, at that point it was clear to me that bridge was going to be a great game.

ATB - Missed Game
As west bidding 2 wouldnt cross my mind, I pass or at least make a responsive double. I guess those who suggest 2 play a responsive double as both majors but IMO its a poor method.
ATB - non-making game instead of diamond slam
I saw the auction looked at north hand, immediatly went to vote to give north all the blame, after that I looked at south hand.
Bidding after a 1NT overcall of partners major suit opening.
I like to simply play my defense against a weak 1NT opening. X=pen 2C= or 2 touching suits (except +) 2M= natural 2NT= + 3= natural 3Y = preemptive (vs strong NT) / forcing vs weak NT/ fitJ by passed hand I guess 3D should be a ...
Dealing Cards
The cards are already played so its not a new deck and nobody got a knowledge of how the cards were played initially, 5 riffles is more than enough to kill the non randomness of a played hand. 7+ shuffles requirement assume you are a computer or a player knowing ...
Dealing Cards For my courses I shuffle a lot of boards in a week and I always do 5 riffle-shuffle and than deal them 13-13-13-13 and they are more random than in any bridge club. Shuffling is important distributing them is not.
Stéphane Turcotte's bidding problem: --- Q95 KQT875 AKJ4
"I do not expect partner to bid 5♣ over 4♣, whatever he has." I agree that often just raising is 100% competing but here we didnt quite limit our hand with 2 (wich got a wide range) partner 3 is also wider ranging since he doesnt have a ...
Stéphane Turcotte's bidding problem: --- Q95 KQT875 AKJ4
I think its very likely responder got exactly 3325. If he didnt have 3 & 3 its quite likely opps would have bid sooner, if hes got a 3334 hes should pass or double 2, hes got no reasons to bid 3C with only 4 since hes already ...
Opener's rebid of 3NT in Precision
One way is french standard its mini-max (3NT is 15-17) and 2NT is 12-14 or 18-19. AFAIK F-A is standard in basic 2/1 but many authors recommend switching (2NT can be dead min and 3Nt is extras or picture) For precision, my view is that each author are likely ...
What is the best use for this bid?
DD sim with these conditions. opener got 17 pts, 3trumps support and a side doubleton, at least 5 controls. responder got 9-14 pts 5332. 4S will go down 10% 6S will make 23% DD is significantly in favor of a 6S declarer, so we need to shave some % there, also ...
Opener's rebid of 3NT in Precision
On wich hands do you want more bidding space ? On the minimum hands with soft values in the side suits wich make slams unlikely or on prime minimum & hands with some extras ?
