Sorry, this user has no cards yet.
Was this the correct ruling?
Ed, a PP in your hypothetical is nonsense.
I play reverse octopus; if you are an opp. at IMP's expect to lose 7-13 IMP's depending on the vulnerability.
Ruling on opening 1NT with small singleton (ACBL)
Can not quote the reg. that makes the bid illegal, but I know it is not allowed unless the singleton is A/K or Q, Ed. However, I believe it is only illegal if by partnership agreement or constant use. The director has to somehow make that determination & rule thereon ...
These are always so much easier to YBTJ on when seeing all 52 cards. Would have been better to post the S hand as a bidding problem. Certainly agree with Wayne above. Negative free bid solves it.
Ruling on opening 1NT with small singleton (ACBL)
The perp ought be drawn & quartered, then tarred & feathered for flouting the ACBL rules in this way. Oh, and also, should not be able to round GO & collect his $200.
MONTREAL "Summer Nationals" in July
In other words, it is OK to not use the ACBL or its affiliate, it is just that the rooms are much more expensive AND there are no rooms available??
MONTREAL "Summer Nationals" in July
What would happen, theoretically, if someone planning on attending a NABC, didn't use the ACBL nor its Housing Bureau at the 3 primary hotels listed? How can they deny you, become aware that you have sidestepped them?
Was this the correct ruling?
Was this director a novice? Easiest ruling nomination in recent BW memory. No rulebook even needed.
BIT - Logical Alternatives Poll
Never say never, Mike.
BIT - Logical Alternatives Poll
I was the victim of partner's BIT many years ago. He had passed out from alcohol consumption. We never played again.
