Making 6HX-6 for -1400 at a Year End Congress. My partner was declaring, but it was very much me who got us there.

Takeout or Penalty
Not at all Mark - there are many more requirements to bid. It's just that they're for the ops, who know they can get away with literally anything and won't be penalised.
Dominic Cooke's bidding problem: 9 T743 J52 98653
Ah, I should probably have said that while not strong, this is a uni bridge club with a convivial atmosphere. Psyches are very much in the T&Cs. But I do agree with you in normal situations, don't worry.

Assign the passing blames
It'd be deeply unlucky to face a jump to 2NT on the auction so far.
Stuff about appeals that some people may find boring
Double of an artificial bid showing the suit? Doesn't seem controversial to me Michael.
