ATB - non-making game instead of diamond slam
Power double to the rescue: Double promises 16+ hcp and partner's response, other than 1NT, shows 6+ hcp and is forcing. 1 X - 2 - 2 - 2 - ? Lots of room to get to a contract and distribution of N somewhat known. North's jump to 4 ...

What other hand types merit jump responses to strong artificial 1C or 2C (or other) openings?
0.098 x 0.03 x 0.5 = 1/700 Chris, it is good to see you posting. In my rare 2/1 partnerships we play your Paradox negative responses to an opening bid of 2. I see some ideas above to improve the 2 complex. Our 2 ...
What other hand types merit jump responses to strong artificial 1C or 2C (or other) openings?
The Barcelona Strong Club, 2017, uses a 3-tier response to 1 for 5-5 hands with 8+ hcp, 2.65%: 1 - 2 = 5-5 any, 11+ hcp 1 - 2 = 5-5 touching suits, 8-10 hcp (also 6-5) 1 - 2NT = 5-5 non-touching suits, 8-10 hcp 1 - 3 ...

I have a partner as of 1/18/18.
What other hand types merit jump responses to strong artificial 1C or 2C (or other) openings?
Ping, This is a good design, I have been using something similar for several years. I learned the 1 - 2 = 5-5 & G.F. from a friend of Eric Rodwell. Previously we were using 1 - 2 as any 4441 and 1 - 2 as 5440 with ...
Solid Suit Design in Strong !C Systems
Because 6-2 fits aren't always discovered at a low enough level for a TAB and it is even harder when responder has a 7 or 8-cd semi-solid or better suit AND in any of my Strong Club Systems, responder can not do a TAB unless RKC is available after ...
Solid Suit Design in Strong !C Systems
OK, how about A DESIGN for semi-solid suits: AKJxxx, AQJxxx, KQJxxx? I'll look up the probability later tonight. 4.2%
Solid Suit Design in Strong !C Systems
Yes, it is rare - The odds are 6 hands in 1000, however only about 10% of those hands would open 1, thus if you play 5000 hands a year as I do, then responder would have a solid suit opposite a 1 opener less than once a year.
Your Ideal Opening Structure
Current system: Mosca : Synergy of Fantunes, Nightmare, & Millennium . Strong (15+) with transfer negatives of 1, 1, or 1. Transfer positives at 2-level. 3-level positive transfers with semi-solid suits or better. Canape openings when 4-5 or 4-6 distribution with 10-16 hcp and a major-minor hand ...
