ATB - Hopeless grand
I don't have a problem with the auction until after 6 (if you're playing first-round controls). E is still in the dark about the K of and K of , and should ask. 6 after 6 should say, "Bid 7 with the K of ...
World Bridge Series Pairs Winners
There was a Junior triathlon at the start of the tournament last week. The US had difficulty fielding a team due to school, the World Championships a month prior, etc. I know it was hard because I ended up being on the US team that came together at the last ...
World Bridge Series Pairs Winners
In addition to Curt's comment regarding school, there was also the Junior World Championships just a month prior in China. That makes it really difficult for the Juniors who aren't pros (and there were a few in the Open category) to find the time to dedicate to both ...
ATB Common Game hand
They are playing the 2 response as could be short (source: I know both the players involved in this poll). That's why I disagreed with those who mentioned a 3 raise straight away, and hence why I'd raise to 4 over 3.
ATB Common Game hand
I don't think the 4 bid is horrid at MPs. Besides the shape being distorted (S sounds like a 5-2-4-2 instead of a 5-1-4-3) and N not knowing about an imminent tap on a lead, if S's suit was more meaty, it might be the ...
ATB Common Game hand
I don't like the 3 bid when N is clearly trying to avoid 3NT. And when he shows max 2 card support, S should pull 4 with an empty suit, IMO.
What are your pet peeves?
Pulling one bid out of the bidding box at a time. It takes more time to do and put back together and no, it does not make you look as cool as you think it does.
What are your pet peeves?
The best part is when you're playing a match that's being Vupgrahed and one of the commentators (one of BW's most respected posters) suggests that your team might consider withdrawing. My teammates and I play matches to learn, not to save face.
10 card Solid or almost solid suits.
Not even sure what the right adjective is for leaving in the X with quite possibly 0 tricks on defense.
10 card Solid or almost solid suits.
It's funny, because I held an 8-5 on Saturday in the Common Game and a 10-bagger the night before on BBO. The 8-5: Jxxxx JT8xxxxx - -. All white, it went 2C on my left, 2D on my right, and not quite sure what the right level was, I bid 4H ...
