- I would rather reverse it and have 3M=minors, 2N=Michaels, especially after (1♠)-P-(2♠). 3m should be pretty good, certainly not a pre-balancing action, but not necessarily so strong that 'partner expected to show a stopper if he has one'.

- If pass is not forcing, I definitely agree with 5♠. We have enough to usually make and our cards are a bit soft to expect 800. Though against some people you could blast 6♠ and expect to hear 7♦.
