about me

I am the ACBL National Recorder. I was on the NAC (appeals committee) from 1984 until its demise. I joined the ACBL Laws Commission in 2006. I was added to the ACBL Ethical Oversight in 2010. I am particularly proud (and mystified) about being appointed to the ACBL Goodwill committee. My hobbies include my dogs, singing, wine, and watching baseball and basketball. Former member District 17 Board and former 1st Alternate Director D17.

Debbie Rosenberg's bidding problem: T3 8743 A8 K9862
I thought it was VERY close.
Hotel room in Atlanta
I think the real "Hyatt" owner name is Pritzker.
In The Well: Ralph Katz
Finally someone who agrees with me about Wrigley! I grew up with Tiger Stadium which had plenty of interesting features, particularly a right field upper deck that jutted out over the outfield a bit. Comiskey Park had similar construction but different features. Old Yankee Stadium was special for the history ...
In The Well: Ralph Katz
The mistake on the lake - that was truly pathetic. Never went to the Kingdome but I have been to Safeco. It is a nice venue. Incidentally Chase Field in Phoenix is pretty nice.
In The Well: Ralph Katz
Ralph - Mazel Tov! You have been one of my bridge heroes since we met when I was about 20 living in Michigan and you were 19 and living in Steubenville. You have always played with flair and acted with class.
Bidding and Lead Combo
I wonder what Lowenthal would have led?
Club Play #2...Poll.
Used to play with Linda once a week. Now I am in a different place - no partner. Only will play occasionally with a student.
Club Discipline
I want to clarify/correct my #3 above. If the game is Unit-owned, any discipline is considered Unit discipline - even if it is by a separate club disciplinary committee. Therefore appeals would go to District appellate. Sorry.
Marcin Wasłowicz's bidding problem: JT852 73 7 AKT32
Most likely partner has a great hand for spades with a doubleton club. But I will take insurance with 4C since I am happy to be in a spade game if I am right.
Richard Margolis's bidding problem: A964 AK7 AJ853 6
1NT. This is not the hand with which to pass and back in.
